As Clint Eastwood said, the beauty of film is that it gives you a chance to try something different.  To celebrate the 300th birthday of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, carte blanche was given to directors and aspiring directors from around the world to use inspiration from the life and works of the philosopher.  Entitled “La Faute à Rousseau," (or “Blame it on Rousseau!”) the collection unites short fictions, documentaries, video essays and animations lasting an average of 4 minutes, created with total freedom.  Each is told from a different point of view, a piece of mosaic that has its own unique identity.  Through stimulating, unexpected and provocative ways, the viewer is shown the contemporary nature of this Age of Enlightenment thinker.  Initiated by the director Pierre Maillard, this project brings together the Cinema Department of the Geneva University of Art and Design, RITA Productions, and Radio Télévision Suisse for an exemplary artistic collaboration.
